While roaming one of my favorite blogs I came across this other blogs post titled "IF YOU SUCK AS AN ARTIST, LOOK AT THS."[link] Well I don't think I suck but I know I need improvement so I started reading. And I quote:
"trust me when I tell you-people, that if you are a CREATOR whether you're a visual artist, dancer, poet or a writer(the original audience that's being addressed) what this man Ira Glass, has to say is solid gold. He's saying stuff I've reported on for years, but says it so much better. It's about overcoming inertia in your art, and coming to grips with that period in your journey where you are absolutely terrible doing the thing you so desire to do. Enough talk from me, please watch the broadcast and be inspired."
Empowering stuff but the video that comes with it is even more truthful and potent.

Sometimes we begginers spend too much time pissing and whining about how bad we are or fawning and obsessing over people who are more skilled. What we need to be doing is working on our own talents and forging them into something we CAN be proud of. This happens so damn much on this site and other art related sites. At one time it didn't bother me but it's has started to irk me over the last year or more. Especially people who aren't that bad going on about how much they suck or how bad they are. Like the video implies you will pump out more crap than you can handle before you truly start to see work that you feel good about.
Time and repetiton are our friends.
Take Care and may the power protect you.
